Rockfall Embankments

Rockfall Embankments are definitive protection structures designed to intercept the trajectories of huge blocks (>5000 kJ) during their movement and fall. The proposed system is based on HDPE extruded geogrids, ideal for such applications as they have an elastic-plastic behavior so that they  quickly react to the applied loads with an increase of the elastic modulus.

The structure is dimensioned following an innovative approach that considers an elasto-viscoplastic model studied and validated executing a campaign of full scale tests (>5000 kJ) in the testing facility near our headquarter.
